Ahead of its release this May, Disney+ has released the first look Obi-Wan Kenobi series teaser trailer. Ewan McGregor is back as the titular character, reprising his role from the Star Wars prequels. The new series is set to land on 25th May 2022.
Kumail Nanjiani, Hayden Christensen, and Joel Edgerton are amongst the cast of the new original series, a highly anticipated release for the streamer, and the latest in many planned Star Wars series’ planned for release.
Deborah Chow is directing the first episode on the series, a plot synopsis for which is as follows:
The story begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.
O’Shea Jackson Jr., Rupert Friend and Bennie Safdie are amongst the cast, along with Moses Ingram, Bonnie Piesse, Indira Varma, Sung Kang, and Simone Kessell.
Christensen plays the role of Darth Vader in the series, with Edgerton reprising his role of Owen Lars from the prequels. Oh, this looks so good.
