Trailer arrives for Sundance-premiering ‘Hatching’

A trailer has arrived for the film Hatching which will make its premiere at the Sundance Film Festival later this month. The film is directed by Hanna Bergholm and is one of the most anticipated at this mnth’s festival which kicks off on the 20th of the month.

The official synopsis is as follows:

In HATCHING, 12-year-old gymnast, Tinja (Siiri Solalinna), is desperate to please her image-obsessed mother, whose popular blog ‘Lovely Everyday Life’ presents their family’s idyllic existence as manicured suburban perfection. One day, after finding a wounded bird in the woods, Tinja brings its strange egg home, nestles it in her bed, and nurtures it until it hatches. The creature that emerges becomes her closest friend and a living nightmare, plunging Tinja beneath the impeccable veneer into a twisted reality that her mother refuses to see.

Hatching stars Siiri Solalinna, Sophia Heikkilä, Jani Volanen, Oiva Ollila, and Reino Nordin and comes from a screenplay written by Ilja Rautsi.

The film already has a release dates set for stateside audiences, 29th April in cinemas, VOD and digital.
