Check out the new trailer for the upcoming Prime Video original Encounter, which is led by the superb Riz Ahmed. This one has been on the festival circuit, including TIFF, and will come to cinemas on 3rd December and then on the streaming platform from 10th December.
The official synopsis is as follows.
A decorated Marine goes on a rescue mission to save his two young sons from a mysterious threat. As their journey takes them in increasingly dangerous directions, the boys will need to leave their childhoods behind.
I quite enjoyed this one – a film that you expect to play out one way but ends up going in a completely different direction altogether.
Octavia Spencer, Rory Cochrane, Lucian-River Chauhan, and Aditya Geddada make up the rest of the main cast. Michael Pearce (Beast) directs.
Here’s the trailer. My review of the film from TIFF is here.
