Harry Potter stars will reunite for special to celebrate 20th anniversary

The stars of the Harry Potter movies are set to reunite for a one-off HBO Max special to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the first film in the series 20th anniversary. Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was released all of the way back in 2001, and will bring back together Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson and director Chris Columbus to celebrate.

Helena Bonham Carter, Robbie Coltrane, Ralph Fiennes, Jason Isaacs, Gary Oldman, Imelda Staunton, Tom Felton, James Phelps, Oliver Phelps, Mark Williams, Bonnie Wright, Alfred Enoch, Matthew Lewis, Evanna Lynch, and Ian Hart will also be involved in the special, which is set to air on the streaming network on New Year’s Day.

No word on where it will air internationally, but the Friends reunion went to Sky One in the UK (now Sky Max) so maybe we’ll see it pop up there.

The Harry Potter special will be titled Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.

We’ll obviously keep you posted on any further news.
