Full Cannes jury announced ahead of July festival

Spike Lee is president this year.

The full jury for this year’s Cannes Film Festival, which takes slightly later than usual in July, has been announced via official press release. Spike Lee will head this year’s line-up and he’s joined by some of world cinema’s best filmmakers.

The 2021 line-up is as follows:

Singer, songwriter (Canada, France)

Maggie Gyllenhaal

Actress, producer, screenwriter, director (États-Unis)

Jessica Hausner

Mélanie Laurent

Actress, director, screenwriter (France)

Kleber Mendonça Filho

Director, producer, screenwriter (Brazil)

Tahar Rahim

Actor (France)

Song Kang-ho

Actor (South Korea)

This year’s festival takes place from 6th July with Annette opening proceedings. Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch, and the latest Paul Verhoeven film, Benedetta. Sean Penn will also return to France and the competition with his latest, Flag Day, while Tangerine and The Florida Project director Sean Baker will debut his new film, Red Rocket.
