The Crown and The Favourite star Olivia Colman is set to lead the cast of Sam Mendes’ next film. TItled Empire Of Light, the feature will reportedly revolve around a cinema on south coast of England. The movie is being set up at Searchlight Pictures and will also reportedly see Mendes reunite with the legendary Oscar-winning cinematographer, Roger Deakins.
Deadline reports that Colman is officially in negotiations to star in the film, Mendes’ first since the ten-time Oscar-nominated World War I feature 1917, which was released in early 2020. Deakins deservedly won an Academy Award for the film, set up to look like the narrative played out in one continuous shot.
