‘The Trial Of The Chicago 7’ to stream on YouTube for free for 48 hours

The film was originally released on Netflix last October.

Netflix are set to stream on of their most applauded films of the year for free over on YouTube. The Trial Of The Chicago 7, written and directed by Aaron Sorkin, will commemorate the 51st anniversary of the trial with the free screening on the video streaming service. It is also on Netflix for subscribers.

What was intended to be a peaceful protest at the 1968 Democratic National Convention turned into a violent clash with police and the National Guard. The organizers of the protest — including Abbie Hoffman, Jerry Rubin, Tom Hayden and Bobby Seale — were charged with conspiracy to incite a riot and the trial that followed was one of the most notorious in history.

The film will stream on YouTube here from Friday 19th February 8:00am GMT until Sunday 21st February 7:59am GMT.

Here’s the director and cast announcement.
