Most people feel that we need movie remakes in order to get a more modern story that we can relate to. Remakes will always be a thing, so long as the current Hollywood movie-making industry remains in place. The recent pandemic may just prove that the hunger is there to more original stories too, and more big movies being made and being successful means that there is more cash for more little indies, too.
