Here’s the trailer for the upcoming sci-fi horror Sputnik which is set for a debut in August. The film hails from Russia and looks like quite the watch. Vertigo releasing will release the film on digital from 14th August.
Official synopsis is as follows:
At the height of the Cold War, a Soviet spacecraft crash lands after a mission gone awry, leaving the commanding astronaut as its only survivor. After a renowned Russian psychologist is brought in to evaluate the astronaut’s mental state, it becomes clear that something dangerous may have come back to Earth with him.
The movie is the debut feature from Egor Abramenko, based on his short film of the same name. It is described as a gripping cross between Species and Chernobyl, or Arrival with fangs and originally played at Tribeca before bagging one million streams when it was released on its home soil earlier this year. IFC Midnight will release the film in the US.
