Murder Mystery, the new murder-mystery-comedy led by Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston is reportedly breaking records over at Netflix. The streamer has been viewed in over 30 million households in its first three days. I must own up to being one of them.
The film was released on the platform last Friday and, according a tweet through Variety, the film was viewed 30.1 million times over its opening weekend, the biggest for a Netflix movie.
Murder Mystery revolves around a couple who, on a honeymoon 15 years after they got married, are swept up in a murder mystery after a rich tycoon dies on a Mediterranean yacht. The film is quite an easy watch and I will own up to not hating it. The viewing figures, not officially released by Netflix but deemed accurate in the Variety article, prove that Sandler still pulls in the punters.
The actor has a multi-movie deal at the streamer, Murder Mystery the latest in a line of films that followed the likes of The Ridiculous 6, The Do Over, The Week Of and Sandy Wexler.
