We’ve just got back from the 72nd Cannes Film Festival where on Saturday night Korean Film Parasite picked up the prestigious Palme d’Or for filmmaker Bong Joon-ho. I managed to catch the film at the festival and can tell you it deserves every single plaudit that comes its way. It’s brilliant.
The win has sparked some interest in the Korean film industry, of which we’re all huge fans of here at the site, so it was a big find over the weekend to find this YouTube channel (via Reddit) which is offering dozens of movies to stream for free, complete with English subtitles!
The channel looks to have been going for quite some time now, but this is the first I’ve heard of it, to be honest. It’s an absolute treasure trove of goodness to feast upon, particularly if you’re looking to expand your world cinema horizons. Here’s a brief introduction video:

Parasite, meanwhile, arrives on its home soil at the end of this week. The film is described as follows: All unemployed, Ki-taek’s family takes peculiar interest in the wealthy and glamorous Parks for their livelihood until they get entangled in an unexpected incident.
