We live in an era of comics now. Just like always – history repeats itself and this genre found its place in people’s hearts again. You can love it, you can hate it, but there is one thing you cannot do – not know about Marvel. For the last 10 years, this company made lots of movies based on comic books that hit the first lines in charts and collected enormous amounts of money in cinemas all over the world. However, movies are not the only thing that Marvel Cinematic Universe is famous for. Today, we are going to talk about its animated pictures and in particular – the one that was released not long ago but can already be seen on a new free site dedicated to movie chat. It is called ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’. Made by Sony Animations in association with Marvel, it might be one of the best Spider-Man adaptations you have ever seen. Let’s now try and break it down, what makes this cartoon so amazing.
1. The drawing style
Creators of this piece surely wanted their cartoon to stand out from the crowd. We must admit – their plan worked. There is not a single full-length cartoon released during the last 10 years that would have had the same style of drawing and animation. At least not that we know of. This is what makes the visuals of this animated picture so appealing and mesmerizing. Especially if you watch it on a big screen, trust us – it is worth spending money on.
The crew of animators who were working on this cartoon were trying to make as big ‘presence effect’ for the audience as it is possible. Quite frankly, you really feel yourself reading a comic book, which is something that no one ever did before on a big screen.
2. The story
The idea of a so-called ‘multiverse’ exists in the Marvel world for a while already. But so far directors were trying to avoid this topic due to its complicity. That is not the case of directors of ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ as they put this idea into the very center of the plot. The result turned out to be very ‘canonical’, without those new interpretations of comic books that some producers are so fond of. You can see all those characters that you are familiar with since you were a kid – Dr. Octopus, Peter Parker, Miles Morales (who is, by the way, the main character of the whole story), Gwen Stacy, and many more. This cartoon brings together a few Spider-men from different universes. We are not going to spoil more of the plot, you have to see it yourself.
3. The humor
Even if you go to the movie cinema in your worst mood, you can be sure that this picture will be able to bring it up. It is filled with jokes and references that would make any Marvel fan’s heart warm. And even if you are not a fan, you can still enjoy the light humor that this piece is filled with.
4. Music
This animated picture has its own album of original soundtracks that you can download. Not to mention that this music fits to the story so organically and makes the whole experience unforgettable. So when you are walking out of the theater, do not be surprised by catching yourself humming one of the songs.
5. Attention to detail
What can be surely said about this cartoon is that its creators put all their efforts into every small detail of it. Be it music or the animation or the story. The main goal they were putting in front of themselves was to show to people that comics can be fun and entertaining and it is definitely not something that only kids could enjoy. At the same time all ‘hardcore Marvel fans’ can enjoy its canonicity and a whole lot of references. All that has been said – anyone can find something for himself or herself in it.
Final thoughts
The new ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ is a new word in the world of animation and everyone, despite the fact of how much they love comics or not, should check it out.
