Bad Times At The El Royale is out on 12th October and to celebrate the release, we’re taking a look at the best singing moments in non-musical films.

10 Things I Hate About You

There has always been a no dating rule in the Stratford household which the two daughters Bianca Stratford and Kat Stratford must follow, this is easier for Kat than Bianca as Kat would rather die than go out with a boy. The rules change when Bianca wants to date Cameron a newcomer at the school however, the twist is Bianca can only date if Kat gets a date too, an unrealistic expectation. Cameron sets up Kat with bad boy Patrick Verona in exchange for money.

In order for Patrick’s interest in Kat to be convincing, during Kat’s soccer practice Cameron (Heath Ledger) sings ‘Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You’ with the school’s band in front of the whole team to impress Kat.

White Chicks

Two FBI agents Kevin and Marcus Copeland are at risk of losing their jobs, as a last resort to help save their careers they go undercover as cruise line heiresses Brittany and Tiffany Wilson from a kidnapping plot against them. Kevin and Marcus have to pose as the heiresses by going to their parties, hanging out with their friends, and even dating to stop people from getting suspicious.

Tiffany secretly Marcus, gains a love interest Latrell Spencer who is unaware that Tiffany is really an undercover agent. Marcus tries his best to get Latrell uninterested in Tiffany however, Latrell is extremely persistent. Latrell picks up Tiffany aka Marcus to go on a date, as a last resort to repulse Latrell Marcus puts ‘A Thousand Miles’ on the radio but Latrell loves the song and starts to sing along.

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

Ferris Bueller a high school student wants to skip a day of school, he pretends to be sick to his parents and convinces them to let him stay at home for the day. Ferris has other plans than staying in all day. With the help with his girlfriend Sloane and his best friend Cameron, Ferris explores Chicago. While they’re off on an adventure the school’s principle is suspicious of Ferris’ ‘sick day’ and tries to catch him out of this lie.

Ferris takes, Sloane and Cameron to a parade in Chicago however, they lose him in the crowd but no luck. Out of nowhere Ferris is on a float in the middle of the parade lip-syncing Twist and Shout, even though his friends try and get him off the float Ferris continues to dance and lip-sync.

Wayne’s World

Wayne a grown man still living at his parents house creates and hosts his own cable TV show with his best friend Garth Algar in Wayne’s basement. This TV show is extremely popular and catches the attention of TV network executive Ben Oliver. Ben wants Wayne’s TV show ‘Wayne’s World’ to be on his television network to become an even bigger success than it already is.

Wayne is in the car with a group of his friends, they’re undecided on what to listen to. Wayne pulls out the tape for Bohemian Rhapsody and drive around singing along with his friends. They notice one of their friends outside drunk and bring him into the car, although in his poor state the drunk friend still sings along with everyone.

Love Actually

Love Actually follows the lives of 16 people of different ages and professions who are falling in love or out of love, from friends, colleagues, to strangers. It explores how each of these individuals deal with their feelings for others differently. Even the Prime Minister, a rock star, a schoolboy and more, find difficulties in love and how to cope with it.

Sam the young schoolboy starts to like a girl from his class called Joanna. As the Christmas celebrations are in full swing their school is putting on a Christmas concert where Sam and Joanna can perform together. Sam practices playing the drums to impress Joanna while she sings. During the ‘All I Want for Christmas’ performance Joanna points to Sam to suggest that she wants him for Christmas making him extremely happy, however, then she points to the rest of the crowd turning Sam’s mood into disappointment.
