Jon Hamm, Ed Harris and Lewis Pullman have all reportedly joined the cast of ‘Top Gun 2’ (aka Top Gun: Maverick), the Tom Cruise-led action sequel over at Paramount Pictures.
They join the already cast Cruise, Val Kilmer, Glen Powell, Jennifer Connelly and Miles Teller in the film, which is about to start shooting.
Deadline reports the news of the trio’s casting, adding that ‘Teller plays the son of Maverick’s former partner Goose (played by Anthony Edwards), who met his in the 1986 original. The plot is mostly under wraps but it follows Cruise’s Pete Mitchell who is now an instructor at the Top Gun school and taking Teller under his wing.’
No word on who Hamm, Harris or Pullman play, but they will appear alongside Charles Parnell, Jay Ellis, Bashir Salahuddin, Danny Ramirez and Monica Barbaro. The bad news in the Deadline article is that Leave No Trace break-out Thomasin McKenzie won’t be joining the project as previously reported due to a scheduling conflict.
