To celebrate its release in UK cinemas from next week, we have a 100% exclusive clip to share from the festival favourite Racer and the Jailbird.
The set up is familiar: boy meets girl, he from the wrong side of the tracks, she the kind of young, good heart that we, and he, sense will not stay easily within his grasp. When Gino
‘Gigi’ (Matthias Schoenaertes), a gangster masquerading as a car tradesman, comes across Benedicte ‘Bibi’ (Adèle Exarchopoulos), the current hotshot racing-pilot in competition during a highbrow Automobile function, there is little that can dissuade either of them from their immediate and heady infatuation with one another.
Here’s the official synopsis, as provided by the distributor.
When Gino meets Bénédicte, it’s love at first sight, passionate, unconditional, fiery. She is working in the family business, and she also drives cars on circuits. Gino is that kind of normal guy, cool, handsome… but he hides a secret. That kind of secret that can endanger your life and the lives of those around you. Gino and Bénédicte will have to fight against fate, reason and their own weaknesses to save their love.
Racer and the Jailbird speeds into UK cinemas from Friday 13th July. Check out our exclusive clip, titled ‘No Flowers’, from the film below. Our full review of the film drops on Monday (preview: we loved it).
