A Michael Jackson musical is reportedly in the works and set for New York’s Broadway. Variety is reporting that the Michael Jackson Estate and Columbia Live Stage are bringing a new production to the stage based on the life of the late music icon.
The trade says that Tony winner Christopher Wheeldon will direct and choreograph the production. Lynn Nottage will write the book for the planned show.
The production is expected to feature some of Jackson’s biggest hits, including “Thriller,” “Smooth Criminal,” “Beat It,” and “Don’t Stop ‘Til You Get Enough.”
It will hit the new York stage in 2020.
