Deadline is reporting that Jon Bernthal is in talks to join the cast of filmmaker James Mangold’s Ford V. Ferrari film. The feature is about the battle between the two car makers to win the Le Mans race back in 1966.
The trade reports that Bernthal is set to play ‘Lee Iacocca, a key marketing exec at Ford during the 60s and later a symbol of the resilience of the American auto industry when he headed Chrysler.’
Bernthal, his team and the filmmakers are apparently looking at his shooting schedule for his in-production second series of The Punisher to see if they can make it work for him to join the biopic.
The actor has a few projects in the pipeline and will next be seen in director Steve McQueen’s Widows which is released later in the year.
