The very first teaser trailer for the next Nicolas Winding Refn project Too Old To Die Young has arrived online. Said project is a crime thriller set over ten parts which will arrive on Amazon in 2019.
The series will star Miles Teller, Jena Malone, and John Hawkes, and judging things from this first footage, we’re in for an absolute treat next year.
The teaser is set to the synth sound of Cliif Martinez, the composer who has worked with Refn on several of his projects, including the superb Drive. It is made up of a mix of still images and actual footage from the series itself.
The series’ WikiPedia page says that the series “a grieving police officer who, along with the man who shot his partner, finds himself in an underworld filled with working-class hit men, Yakuza soldiers, cartel assassins sent from Mexico, Russian mafia captains and gangs of teen killers.”
Refn reportedly first showed the footage at an event over the weekend – a screening of his popular, and indeed possibly most accessible movie Drive. Here he is introducing the movie (and the footage from the new show too).
The Facebook page for Too Old To Die Young is also worth looking up as Refn often hosts Facebook live videos of him and his crew working on the series. We’re addicted.
We can’t wait Too Old To Die Young. Take a look at the teaser below.
