Jonathan Pryce, Adam Driver, Olga Kurylenko, Joana Ribeiro, and Stellan Skarsgard star in the film, which has been hotly tipped to appear at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. That looks in doubt as the film has reportedly run into a dispute with one the film’s former producers. You can read about all of that over on France Inter, who broke the news, but we’re more interested in this early footage from the movie, which is said to be all but complete.

There’s no release date set for Gilliam’s film as yet, but with the Cannes line-up set to be revealed a week today, we’d not like to be ones to bet against an appearance in the South of France next month.

“Don Quixote is a dreamer, an idealist and a romantic, determined not to accept the limitations of reality, marching on regardless of setbacks, as we have done,” said Gilliam previously to The Hollywood Reporter. “We’ve been at it so long that the idea of actually finishing shooting this ‘clandestine’ film, is pretty surreal. Any sensible person would have given up years ago but sometimes pig-headed dreamers win in the end, so thank you to all of the ill paid fantasists and believers who have joined to make this longstanding dream a reality!’’
