Woody Harrelson Is Reportedly Playing Carnage In ‘Venom’

According to Bleeding Cool, Woody Harrelson is set to reunite with his Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer to play the character of Carnage in Venom. The movie is very much ‘in the cam’ and into post-production, but the outlet says that they have ‘been told in a very confirm-y way’ about Carnage’s appearance and Harrelson’s involvement.

The character, according to Marvel themselves, ‘was once a serial killer known as Cletus Kasady, and became Carnage after merging with the offspring of the alien symbiote called Venom during a prison breakout. The symbiote amplified his psychotic nature making him even less mentally stable than he had been previously, and therefore even more dangerous. An interesting note is that, unlike Venom, Carnage is a singular entity, referring to himself as “I” instead of “We”, because the symbiote has actually merged into Kasady’s bloodstream.’

Tom Hardy plays the title character of Venom in the Sony Pictures release, due in cinemas in October. More as we get it.

Harrelson will next be seen in Lucasfilm’s Solo: A Star Wars Story, which is released in cinemas in May.
