Lethal Weapon 5 A Possibility At Warner Brothers With Original Cast Members?

‘There are many moving parts, but we’ve heard that all are on board and exploring another film’, so reports the trade blog.

Lethal Weapon first graced our screens thirty years ago in 1987, and together the four have pulled in $955.2 million worldwide. The last film was released in 1998.

The films followed an LAPD homicide cop Roger Murtaugh (Glover) who is partnered with another cop who was transferred over from the narc squad Martin Riggs (Gibson). They are reluctantly paired with very different ideas of policing and have an ongoing feud until the must rely on each other for their lives. In the later sequels Joe Pesci and Chris Rock were added to the cast, but of course, at this very early stage, it is unknown if their characters would return.

Lethal Weapon has since spawned a TV series, also from Warner Brothers, which sees Clayne Crawford play Martin Riggs, and Damon Wayans as his partner Roger Murtaugh. The series is now in its second season, airing on ITV in the UK.

Mel Gibson will next be seen in comedy sequel Daddy’s Home 2, which releases in November, while Danny Glover has a number of projects coming up, including Killing Winston Jones, in which appears opposite Richard Dreyfuss.

We’ll bring you more news on Lethal Weapon 5, or indeed anything related, as it comes our way.
