Set to debut at this week’s Venice Film Festival and then next week’s Toronto International Film Festival is Bone Tomahawk director S. Craig Zahler’s Brawl In Cell Block 99. If Bone Tomahawk is anything to go by, we’re in for a pretty tough, but very fulfilling watch, laced with a little fun and humour. Watch the first Brawl In Cell Block 99 trailer in the player below.
Brawl In Cell Block 99 trailer shows Vince Vaughn going to town on a stationary car
Vince Vaughn, Jennifer Carpenter, Udo Kier, Marc Blucas and Don Johnson star in Brawl In Cell Block 99, a crime thriller from the celebrated Zahler due in cinemas later in the year.
In Brawl In Cell Block 99, a former boxer named Bradley (Vince Vaughn) loses his job as an auto mechanic, and his troubled marriage is about to end. At this crossroads in his life, he feels that he has no better option than to work for an old buddy as a drug courier. This improves his situation until the terrible day that he finds himself in a gunfight between a group of police officers and his own ruthless allies. When the smoke clears, Bradley is badly hurt and thrown in prison, where his enemies force him to commit acts of violence that turn the place into a savage battleground.
In the Brawl In Cell Block 99 trailer, which is actually billed as a teaser trailer, you can see Vaughn’s Bradley got to town on an American vehicle. We wouldn’t want to be that car.
Brawl In Cell Block 99 already has a release date set for North America. Audiences Stateside will be able to see the film from October 6th. It is currently awaiting a UK release date.
