The Witch and Split star Anya Taylor-Joy, along with Game Of Thrones‘ Maisie Williams have joined the cast of X-Men spin-off movie The New Mutants, so reports The Hollywood Reporter. The planned film is set to star shooting in Montreal, Canada next month with Josh Boone at the helm.
Boone wrote the screenplay along with Knate Lee basing their script on the 1980s spin-off New Mutants, created by Chris Claremont and Bob McLeod. The property was the very first spin-off from the X-Men franchise.
The Hollywood Reporter says that the film will focus on the angst-driven adventures of a diverse group of teens that include Native American Danielle Moonstar, Scots girl Wolfsbane, Brazilian ladies man Sunspot, a Kentuckian code-named Cannonball and Russian teen Magik. Also in the mix will be an alien named Warlock. Williams will play the role of Wolfsbane while Taylor-Joy will assume the role of Magik.
The film already has a April 13th 2018 release date set.
More as we get it.
