Sean Bean learns the consequences of a secret life in ‘Drone’ trailer

The whole world is drone crazy at the moment. The advanced technology is currently being utilised in a number of ways from delivering parcels to Joe public, to forming a line of defence from potential terrorists. The job of a drone operator has been at the centre of a handful of recent movies including both Good Kill and Eye in the Sky. Both dealt with slightly different aspects of the job – Good Kill focused in on the guilt and stress laid upon the operator, whilst Eye in the Sky played out a real-time story of the decision of whether to strike or not. Now comes Drone, which will focus on revenge and secrets.

Starring Sean BeanDrone looks to be the most fictionalised of the three stories, and from what this first trailer showcases, a lot more action-packed.

Bean stars as Neil, a private drone contractor who spends his workdays flying covert missions, then returns to a family life of suburban mediocrity – without his wife or son knowing about his secret life – until a whistle-blowing site exposes him to a deadly threat. Enter Patrick Sabongui who plays an enigmatic Pakistani businessman, Imir, who believes Neil is responsible for the deaths of his wife and daughter. Imir then tracks Neil down, leading to a harrowing confrontation.

Drone arrives Stateside on 26th May, with a UK release date still to be announced.
