Baby Driver trailer: Edgar Wright delivers the first trailer for his latest as it debuts at the SXSW Film Festival.
Watch the Baby Driver trailer below.
It debuted at the SXSW film festival in Austin, Texas just last night, and now we have our first look at Edgar Wright‘s Baby Driver. This film looks like so much fun, apparently full of high-octane action sequences, tons of comedy and a banging soundtrack.
Here’s the plot.
A talented, young getaway driver (Ansel Elgort) relies on the beat of his personal soundtrack to be the best in the game. When he meets the girl of his dreams (Lily James), Baby sees a chance to ditch his criminal life and make a clean getaway. But after being coerced into working for a crime boss (Kevin Spacey), he must face the music when a doomed heist threatens his life, love and freedom.
So far, the reviews coming out of SXSW have been largely positive. Here’s a few initial reactions from the Twitterverse.
Baby Driver is fuckin’ awesome. Edgar Wright made his own version of a movie musical except the choreography is car stunts and violence.

Elgort is great. Hamm is great. Spacey is great. Foxx is great. James is great. Already loved BABY DRIVER *before* the ATL Twins cameo #SXSW

Edgar Wright’s BABY DRIVER really is like nothing else, a gangster heist romance car musical. Energy at #sxsw premiere just through the roof

You guys know that satisfaction when actions are beautifully synced with the music/sound? Okay Baby Driver is that a million fucking times

If you thought LA LA LAND rejuvenated the movie musical, wait until BABY DRIVER, which is like Busby Berkeley’s GRAND THEFT AUTO. #SXSW
