Alien Covenant prologue

Alien Covenant prologue short reveals the crew of the supposedly doomed ship.

20th Century Fox have released the Alien Covenant prologue. The short, which runs at over four minutes, is titled The Last Supper, and can be viewed in the player below.

The Prologue: Last Supper short introduces the crew of the mission. Set aboard the Covenant, a colonization ship on its way to a remote planet to form a new human settlement, the main crew (all couples) and their android, Walter, enjoy one last meal together before cryosleep.

The short film is actually directed by Ridley Scott’s son, filmmaker Luke Scott, and was conceived by Ridley Scott and 3AM, and produced by RSA Films.

Here’s the official synopsis for the movie, the sequel to Prometheus and prequel to the Alien movies, which will arrive in May.

Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created in ALIEN with ALIEN: COVENANT, the second chapter in a prequel trilogy that began with PROMETHEUS — and connects directly to Scott’s 1979 seminal work of science fiction. Bound for a remote planet on the far side of the galaxy, the crew of the colony ship Covenant discovers what they think is an uncharted paradise, but is actually a dark, dangerous world — whose sole inhabitant is the “synthetic” David (Michael Fassbender), survivor of the doomed Prometheus expedition.

Ridley Scott is directing the film for the studio, while Michael Fassbender stars alongside Katherine Waterston, Danny McBride, Demián BichirJussie SmolettAmy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, Callie Hernandez, and Billy Crudup. We’re also expecting to see Noomi Rapace back as Dr. Elizabeth Shaw, and James Franco as the Captain of the Covenant ship.

Alien: Covenant arrives in cinemas on May 19th, 2017, which is a full three months before it was due to land. We cannot wait for this.
