Kyle Chandler, the actor who is so glorious in the Netflix show Bloodline and the stunning Manchester By The Sea, has joined the cast of the next Godzilla movie, Godzilla: King Of The Monsters.
The upcoming film, a sequel to the 2014 Gareth Edwards-directed movie, will be helmed by Michael Dougherty (Trick ‘R Treat), and is headed for a March 22nd, 2019 release date.
The Hollywood Reporter says that Stranger Things star Millie-Bobby Brown has also joined the cast. They state that Chandler will play a scientist and father of Brown’s character, which is said to be the hero of the movie.
As well as being a sequel to the Edwards film, which wasn’t that well-received by critics, but did do decent coin at the box-office ($520 million plus worldwide), the movie will form part of the universe that Warner Bros. and Legendary are building with Kong: Skull Island, which debuts in cinemas next month.
Chandler is also known for playing Coach Eric Taylor on Friday Night Lights and Dylan Young on Grey’s Anatomy. Brown has appeared in the likes of Intruders and NCIS.
Godzilla: King Of The Monsters is written by Michael Doherty and Zach Shields.
