You just know that as soon as any movie becomes a box office hit, it won’t be very long until one of the many slot machine designers gets around to doing some form of licensing agreement with the production company and/or actors in that film to allow them to design and then manufacture one or more slots based around those films and characters.
We are always looking for movie based news stories that are slightly more unusual than normal, and as such we sent one of our team out to track down and play some movie themed slot machines in both the online and land based gaming environment and to give us his feedback on those slots.
As such below are both a list of the slots the played and his opinion on how he found them. If you do want to see if Lady Luck is smiling on you and want a chance to win on the slots listed below there are many casino sites available offer them to online players, and plenty of land based casinos offering these slot machines too.
Van Helsing Slot – Alas, Hugh Jackman doesn’t make an appearance on this slot without his top on, however the game is one of WMS most popular Colossal Reels slots. Offering 2 sets of reels, one having 100 win lines, there are huge amounts to be won on this boom or bust type slot. The wagers start at 0.50 coins, however the maximum bet is entirely down to the casino and the choice of denomination they use.
There are free spins triggered by spinning 3 or more Castle Scatter symbols into view, and these can also be retriggered, also a special reel set comes into play, making it far easier to win some pretty impressive wins!
Sex and the City Slot – This is one of those slots that is really hard to write about because there are more versions of it than Carrie Bradshaw has had lovers! We will stick to the main 5 reel slot without the wheel features. Obviously featuring 5 reels, the game offers bonuses of free spins, picking games, matching games and ladder climbing games.
There are scatter pays, and thanks to IGT constantly updating and upgrading their games either remotely or land based, you are guaranteed to have a steady and reliable game that doesn’t drop dead at the mere mention of Paper Low! Also, IGT tend to add features to their newer games, such as incorporating a new bonus type or even progressive jackpots!
Grease Slot – If you have chills that are multiplying´ but don’t really fancy losing control, check out the Grease slot, the game offers a lot. Multiple bonuses, multi stake, multi line, the only thing you don’t really get from this game is John Travolta serenading you in person!
Using clips of music from the original soundtrack (yes, it was a musical on STAGE before it was a FILM!) and also Video and audio clips from the film you’ll be taken in by the whole atmosphere. There are thousands or potential wins and as this slot is pretty well behaved, you’ll generally get a lot of bang for your buck.
Top Gun Slot – Before you start singing Take my breath away, be aware that this fairly rare slot is high variance and as such, is more suited to those that are looking for a win or lose session. The game itself is fairly basic offering the usual free spins and in some cases a progressive jackpot. Spread over 5 reels, it has optional paylines, and we personally would recommend it to players who are advancing from the old Stars and Stripes type slots to more advanced gaming without being overwhelmed by the additional features others offer.
Titanic Slot – I don’t think I’ve ever asked a slot to draw me like one of its French Girls! This enchanting slot however offers so much more than a typical themed slot. With multiple win lines a variety of bonus features, 5 progressives and an impromptu appearance by Celine Dion, the only thing this slot, based on one of the biggest selling films of all time is missing is literally giving you that bloody big blue diamond!
You will find so many little added extras and you will feel like you´re on the ship, before it sank obviously! There are 3rd, 2nd, and 1st class bets ranging from 0.45 to 4.00 credits however the lines can’t be changed.
