One of our favourite films of last year was the brilliant Arrival, and while the film didn’t quite make our best of the year, we still hold it in very high regard.
In the film, Linguistics professor Louise Banks (Amy Adams) leads an elite team of investigators when gigantic spaceships touch down in 12 locations around the world. As nations teeter on the verge of global war, Banks and her crew must race against time to find a way to communicate with the extraterrestrial visitors. Hoping to unravel the mystery, she takes a chance that could threaten her life and quite possibly all of mankind.
Apart from the superb screenplay, wonderful cinematography and flawless acting, the film is memorable for its stunning special effects, and the FX house Oblique FX have just released the following video featuring some jaw-dropping before and after effects shots that they created for the movie.
