With the Converse All Star being a major global brand, it is no surprise that the successful shoes have broken their way into show business. Ever since the sneakers appeared for the first time on the big screen on Anthony Perkins’ feet in 1960’s Tall Story, the footwear has been a common occurrence in Hollywood, both on and off screen. The simplicity of the shoe and its ever-changing styles lend themselves brilliantly to the diverse range of movies out there. A recent article published by Couponbox explains how the now gender-neutral footwear started to grace the feet of movie stars, right from Shirley MacLaine with her vintage style and glamour to everyone’s favorite tomboy vampire Kristen Stewart, aka Bella Swan. To really appreciate the shoe that has moved through decades in the world of Hollywood, let’s have a look at some instances where Converse All Star was truly at the feet of film.
Little Miss Sunshine (2006)

There are so many films which feature Converse All Stars, but we all remember this quirky Oscar-nominated comedy-drama that is now a decade old. The All Stars are worn by several members of the Hoover family. This could be because Converse are a great family-friendly footwear, but Abigail Breslin as little Olive Hoover really knows how to rock her red Converse complete with basketball shirt and headband. Costume designer Nancy Steiner definitely made the right choice here!

Despite her often unusual style, there is no doubt Miley Cyrus is a fan of the Converse All Star. The actress and singer can often be seen sporting the sneakers, on or off camera. Whether they are used as on-the-go footwear, in that cute The Last Song scene, with Liam Hemsworth writing love notes on her feet or back in the day as an undercover pop star in Hannah Montana, Miley Cyrus loves to rock her Converse. Could she be giving Queen of Converse Kristen Stewart some competition?

??Even the wizarding world is taking notice of Converse All Stars. In several of the Harry Potter films, characters can be seen wearing Converse. Is this considered a form of Muggle shoe that Harry has introduced, or is it just common sense to wear the comfortable kicks when being hunted down by Voldemort? Jany Temime was obviously smart in the costume department!
Back to the Future (1985)

What footwear do you choose to wear when travelling back in time to 1955? The Converse All Star was again the answer in this famous sci-fi cult classic which turned 30 in 2015. There is no denying their role in the film when they pretty much have their own skateboard scene! I guess this just proves the Converse All Star’s timelessness.

?What better note to end on than with Miss Converse herself, Kristen Stewart. The actress has been flaunting her love for the sneakers for a long time, both on and off screen. She can be seen sporting the kicks playing characters such as Bella Swan in Twilight. Kristen is also known for showing off her Converse as a red-carpet staple, teamed with a glamorous Chanel outfit. This brand is one for Hollywood!
