Moonlight UK trailer: Watch the British trailer for one of the films to catch in the first quarter of 2017.
The Moonlight UK trailer is posted below.
One of the films getting a lot of awards speak and plaudits at the moment is the stunning Moonlight, the Barry Jenkins film that stars the brilliant Naomie Harris, André Holland, Mahershala Ali, Janelle Monáe, Trevante Rhodes, Ashton Sanders and Jharrel Jerome.
The film isn’t released in UK cinemas until February, but it has qualified for the Academy Awards and the BAFTAs, so make sure that you keep an eye on it come early 2017 when it takes its bow (and those nominations are announced – there will loads for this).
A timeless story of human connection and self-discovery, Moonlight chronicles the life of a young black man from childhood to adulthood as he struggles to find his place in the world while growing up in a rough neighbourhood of Miami.
At once a vital portrait of contemporary African American life and an intensely personal and poetic meditation on identity, family, friendship, and love, Moonlight is a groundbreaking piece of cinema that reverberates with deep compassion and universal truths. Anchored by extraordinary performances from a tremendous ensemble cast, Jenkins’s staggering, singular vision is profoundly moving in its portrayal of the moments,
people, and unknowable forces that shape our lives and make us who we are.
The Moonlight UK trailer is littered with 5-star review marks and positive quotes, though not any of ours, so here’s one for good measure from our review from the BFI London Film Festival back in October.
“A story that it beautiful, relevant, necessary and heart-breaking, but at the same time massively fulfilling. Pure cinematic perfection.”
Thank you. You can read the full review at the end of the link above. Moonlight debuts across the UK from 17th February, 2017. It is now playing Stateside, so if you’re able to see it, do so ASAP.
Here’s the UK trailer.
