Currently riding high at the top of the U.S. box-office is the superb Moana, the latest Disney animated adventure which hits UK cinemas this coming Friday 2nd December. The film is directed by Disney legends Ron Clements and John Musker (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin) and we caught up with them to chat about their new movie earlier on this week.

You can watch our Ron Clements and John Musker interview below.

The sweeping feature film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people, and has grossed over $80 million in its opening five days at the U.S. box-office, making it the second biggest Thanksgiving opener ever (behind Disney’s Frozen).

In Moana, an adventurous teenager sails out on a mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana (Auli’i Cravalho)meets the once-mighty demigod Maui (Dwayne Johnson), who guides her in her quest to become a master way-finder. Together they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds. Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.

The film features music by Hamilton‘s Lin Manuel Miranda, with songs performed by Cravalho and Johnson themselves. Listen to Johnson’s superb rendition of ‘You’re Welcome‘ from the film at the end of the link.
