Cor’ blimey, Guv’nor etc (and whatever else they used to say around Old London Town during the days of Saucy Jack) because the popular crime drama Ripper Street is back on the box today.
And by the box, we mean on demand via Amazon Prime, the home of the show since the BBC shortsightedly cancelled it in 2013.
Season 4, which kicks off with a feature length first episode available for UK Prime Members today, sees the return of Matthew Macfayden and Jerome Flynn’s Victorian detectives Reid and Drake (though Macfayden’s Reid has hung up his detective’s magnifying glass – let’s see how long that lasts), with them being drawn into a murder conviction against an old friend.
Plus, MyAnna Buring’s “Long” Susan Hart is just weeks away from execution for her part in the deaths of 55 people in last season’s train disaster. Dum dum dummmmm.
So it’s business as usual on Ripper Street, with plenty of grisly drama to chew on.
