‘Terminator Genisys’ Reasons To Be Wary

by Kat Hughes

Terminator Genisys 9

Last night the first full-length trailer for TERMINATOR GENISYS arrived. Now you would think that given THE TERMINATOR is one of my all-time favourite movies that I would have been excited for the promo video to land. Sadly after having been burnt by TERMINATOR 3 I know better than to put my faith into the newer incarnations of the franchise. Since the reboot announcement I have been outwardly against the project and was particularly vocal about to decision to cast a very muscular Jai Courtney as the latest version of Kyle Reese. Then came the decision to change the name from Terminator Genesis to TERMINATOR GENISYS, a choice clearly made by a text-speak lover.  Internally however I have been slightly hopeful that they won’t further tarnish the reputation of James Cameron’s baby. After seeing the trailer though it seems that I and many other devoted fans are in for some bitter disappointment. The time machine was good and nice to finally see committed to film – it was in the original T2 script but Cameron didn’t have the budget to shoot it. It is also nice to see Arnie back in the role that has defined him his entire career but other than that I have little enthusiasm. What follows are my biggest gripes.

I agree with almost everything in the article. Big fan of Cameron’s Terminator! But this looks nothing like the first Terminator, more like some Power Rangers movie. Too bad … I waited impatiently …
Hopefully the trailer is the worst of the film – but I doubt it.?

Glad I’m not on my own – really wanted to like it.

That trailer was everything I wasn’t hoping for – It’s basically a mash-up of previous movies and, oh my…oh why?

Oh god, I agree on absolutely everything, Never in my life have I been so disappointed at a reboot… Or more like abridged series! And where they completely obliterated this movie was with the casting choice of Reese! Tf is that muscle dude?? Everything seems so horrible and out of place.

I compared the trailer with some scenes from T2. T5 is obvious parody. I doubt it would be better even than T3. Really unfortunate. I mean in every aspect – including cinematography, lighting, makeup, visual effects and the acting is just terrible. Indeed, everything is out of place.
