Watch: Air Hobbit Safety Video

Flying. They say it’s statistically the safest way to travel, though it’s also the only way to travel that starts with safety instructions. Over the last few years the safety demonstrations have moved on from being your team of flight attendants pointing to things and inflating life-jackets, with airlines producing safety videos instead. Most companies are trying to offer a unique and memorable spin to their videos but they’ve all got a way to go if they want to beat Air New Zealand.

Air New Zealand have today released a new in-flight safety video with a distinctly Middle-Earth flavour. The short video sees two fanatical LORD OF THE RINGS fans transported to the fantasy realm where their air stewards are waiting to brief them. The video obviously comes just in time to remind people that the last HOBBIT film, THE HOBBIT: THE BATTLE OF THE FIVE ARMIES is soon to be released, and even stars Elijah Wood and Peter Jackson in some genius cameos.
