2. STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN
STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN is simply legendary. The first Star Trek film was rather a mixed bag, so it was decided to go back to the TV show in search of a plot for the second instalment. It was decided to follow up the episode “Space Seed”. Khan as a villain meant that there was a lot more emotional conflict between the protagonists and the villain. STAR TREK II: THE WRATH OF KHAN is one of those films that has been impossible to ignore. Even those unfamiliar with Star Trek will know of William Shatner’s famous scream, a move that was foolishly cloned for the latest entry, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS. Still considered the greatest Star Trek film of the bunch, this shows that TV adaptations can most definitely work as well as standing up against the biggest of blockbusters.
