It has just been announced by James Wan that the INSIDIOUS and SAW Director will be passing down the torch to friend Leigh Whannell to direct the third installment which is due to be released April, 2015.

Leigh Whannell co-created the first two films as writer, and even had an acting role as one of the paranormal investigators, Specs but why James Wan is not directing the third film is unclear. It could possibly be due to the filming schedule of FAST AND FURIOUS 7 which is also due to be released April next year. James Wan seems pretty confident from the above statement that first time director, Leigh Whannell will keep the film in safe hands.
April 2015 shall be an interesting time at the cinema!
