It’s been a while since we’ve heard any solid news on Zack Snyder’s much-hyped BATMAN VS SUPERMAN, with the majority of internet discussion revolving around its shared release date with Marvel’s currently untitled CAPTAIN AMERICA 3.
Now just a few short weeks ahead of filming, we have finally received something official from Warner Bros regarding a few additional cast members. Although it would be much more exciting to get some sort confirmation on those JUSTICE LEAGUE rumours, or maybe an official image of Ben Affleck as Batman, these new casting announcement’s are still interesting additions to the film. Holly Hunter (THE PIANO), Callan Mulvey (CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER) and Tao Okamoto (THE WOLVERINE) will join the already jam-packed cast of BATMAN VS SUPERMAN as brand new characters created especially for the film. You can read what Zack Snyder had to say about the new cast members joining his MAN OF STEEL sequel below:
‘Holly has always been one of my favourite actresses. She has immense talent and is always captivating on screen. I had an opportunity to meet her a while back and knew instantly that I had to work with her, so as we began writing the script I made sure to create a role specifically for her’.
‘I just had the good fortune to work with Callan on 300: Rise of an Empire and was very impressed with his incredible talent. He’s a fantastic actor and I’m looking forward to having the chance to work with him again. And, quite simply, Tao is a striking presence whose beauty is aptly rivalled by her amazing abilities as an actress. I’m really excited to have her joining us on this adventure’.
It will definitely be interesting to see where these three extremely talented actors fit into a film that already has so many characters within it’s ambitious story. Expect to hear further news on the highly anticipated film as we edge closer to its filming start date at the end of April. BATMAN VS SUPERMAN stars Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Amy Adams, Lawrence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Holly Hunter, Callan Mulvey and Tao Okamoto.
