Kevin Spacey Enlists With Churchill Biopic ‘Captain Of The Gate’

Kevin Spacey

Kevin Spacey is set to take on the UK’s legendary Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, in a forthcoming biopic.

CAPTAIN OF THE GATE follows the story of Churchill’s rise to political power and his finest hour against Hitler and the Nazi party during the war years. Churchill served two non-consecutive terms as PM, including during WW2.

So the project has a script by Ben Kaplan and Spacey as its big name star. Now, the hunt is on for a director. Sierra/Affinity is producing, while StudioCanal is in talks about also coming on board.

Spacey always brings a certain gravitas to any role, so his signing up should be a promise of future victory. The Academy Award winning actor is currently starring as Francis Underwood in Netflix’s House of Cards. Perhaps it’s given him a taste for politics.
