‘Due Date’ Writer Set For ‘We’re The Millers’ Sequel

We're The Millers ImageWE’RE THE MILLERS made it into my Top 10 films of last year. Any comedy that brings me to tears is an automatic win, so talk of a sequel has been very welcomed. However, one film I was not too fond of was 2010’s DUE DATE. One of the writers from said film, Adam Sztykiel, has now been hired to write WE’RE THE MILLERS. DUE DATE had a large number of writers, but Sztykiel’s only other feature film credit is MADE OF HONOUR. Although this doesn’t instill a great deal of confidence, we have to assume that New Line will treat their property with the respect it deserves. Being a comedy, it’s doubtful that Sztykiel will be the only screenwriter attached.

The original film saw a group of misfits including a pot dealer, a stripper, a runaway, and a naive young man team up to pose as a normal American family as they transported drugs across the border. The film took a budget of $37 million and made $270 million worldwide.

Luke likes many things, films and penguins being among them. He's loved films since the age of 9, when STARGATE and BATMAN FOREVER changed the landscape of modern cinema as we know it. His love of film extends to all aspects of his life, with trips abroad being planned around film locations and only buying products featured in Will Smith movies. His favourite films include SEVEN SAMURAI, PASSION OF JOAN OF ARC, IN BRUGES, LONE STAR, GODZILLA, and a thousand others.
