Marvel and summer smash-hits have gone hand-in-hand the over the last few years. This year’s offering comes in the form of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. Potentially one of the stranger stories within the company’s huge catalogue, GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY sees an eclectic group of alien life-forms band together to take on the villainous Ronan.
The film will be directed by James Gunn whose previous films include the odd-ball horror comedy, SLITHER. He is joined by an impressive cast that span all walks of life with stars such as Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, John C. Reilly, Chris Pratt and Zoe Saldana all signing on for roles in the latest Marvel franchise.
The last few months have seen us drip-fed tidbits of information about production by Gunn. It all started when he tweeted a photograph of his real life Rocket raccoon muse Oreo(whom we got to meet recently), since then we have been steadily let into more and more, with yesterday bringing a new set of stills. Today though we are treated to what we’ve all been waiting for, a full length trailer. Check it out in all it’s glory below.
Excited? We definitely are and cannot wait to see a human team up with an alien tree and a gun-toting raccoon to try and save not just the planet like other heroes but the whole galaxy. The trailer highlights the comedic nature of the script and utilises Blue Swede’s ‘Hooked On A Feeling’ astonishingly well.
GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY is set to hit cinemas from 1st August 2014 and stars Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Benicio del Toro, Karen Gillan, Ophelia Lovibond, Lee Pace, Djimon Honsou, Glenn Close, Peter Serafinowicz and John C. Reilly.
