It looks like regular Marvel storyboard artist Federico D’Alessandro may finally get his wish and be granted the opportunity to direct a film. D’Alessandro is currently in talks to direct a new project from Michael Bay, Brad Fuller and Andrew Form under their Platinum Dunes production company titled LOCKDOWN AT FRANKLIN HIGH.
D’Alessandro has provided storyboard art for THOR, CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER, THE AVENGERS, IRON MAN 3 and THOR: THE DARK WORLD as well as the upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER and AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON. The news that he may finally direct can only be a good thing if you have seen some of his incredible work, clearly the man has a gift for unique artistic detail and flair that could be a beautiful to watch on the big screen. Here is the plot for LOCKDOWN AT FRANKLIN HIGH:
‘Lockdown, written by Joe Ballarini and Gregg Bishop, centers on a brother-and-sister duo on opposite social sides (he’s an at-risk kid, she’s the good girl) that get stuck in a lockdown in their high school while a monster stalks the halls’.
The plot sounds refreshingly original and the finished product could present itself as both an interesting character piece and visual beauty in terms of the monster stalking the halls, therefore (hopefully) giving us the best of both worlds. Producers are reportedly looking at an early 2014 start for production and I await further news on the project eagerly. Also if you haven’t already be sure to check out some of D’Alessandro’s work which is quite a treat. As always we’ll update you with any more news on LOCKDOWN AT FRANKLIN HIGH.
