Ferrell & Reilly Reunite For ‘Devil’s Night’

step_brothers_tuxedo_interview

The hilarious double-act that worked so well for TALLADEGA NIGHTS and STEP BROTHERS –  Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly – will reunite and lead a new project titled DEVIL’S NIGHT. It’s expected to take a more action-orientated direction and comes from screenwriters Andrew Mogel and Jarrad Paul. It will be produced by Ferrell’s production company Gary Sanchez, alongside frequent collaborator Adam McKay (who actually also helmed the duo’s previous efforts). No director has yet been named but don’t be surprised to see McKay take the reigns.

The official plot synopsis goes as follows:

DEVIL’S NIGHT is set on October 30, when the real mischief and debauchery goes down. The unofficial holiday made Leonard and Gabe best friends as children, though it would eventually be responsible for tearing them apart. 15 years later, with Devil’s Night growing out of control, they must put their differences aside and reunite to save their neighbourhood from utter destruction.

Whether together or apart, both Ferrell and Reilly are a hoot with whatever they’re given. Reilly is also rumoured for a cameo in McKay and Ferrell’s forthcoming ANCHORMAN 2: THE LEGEND CONTINUES. I’m still waiting for a Ron Burgundy/Dewey Cox team up! Make it so Mr. McKay.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
