Milla Jovovich, who is soon to reprise her role as Alice in the sixth RESIDENT EVIL instalment has been cast in Millennium Films’ SURVIVOR alongside Emma Thompson, Pierce Brosnan and Angela Bassett.
Survivor will be directed by James McTeigue (V FOR VENDETTA, NINJA ASSASSIN) in London commencing 20th January. The film will be produced by Charles Winkler and Irwin Winkler from a script by Phil Shelby. According to Deadline here’s the plot of SURVIVOR:
‘Jovovich plays a State Department employee newly posted to the American embassy in London, where she is charged with stopping terrorists from getting into the U.S. That puts her right in the line of fire and she is targeted for death and framed for crimes. Discredited, she is forced to go on the run while she tries to clear her name and stop a large-scale terrorist attack set for New Year’s Eve in Times Square’.
From the plot it sounds like a mixture of SALT and the BOURNE franchise, which Jovovich will no doubt be able to handle with her action credentials under her belt. Although it does make me wonder when she will get around to filming that sixth RESIDENT EVIL film with a release date pencilled in for September 2014.
As always we’ll update you with any more news on SURVIVOR.
