THE GREY and NARC director Joe Carnahan, who’s just completed all-star action-comedy STRETCH and saw his pilot episode of ‘The Blacklist’ score big in the ratings, has signed on to direct the first episode and executive produce CBS’ adaptation of Anne Rice’s novel, ANGEL TIME.
The novel, which Rice wrote during her return to her Catholic beliefs although she has since denounced them yet again, centres on ruthless Californian hitman Toby O’Dare. After meeting a mysterious stranger known as a seraph, Toby is offered the chance to save lives instead of take them. Having once been tempted in becoming a priest and looking for redemption, he takes the offer but finds himself transported to medieval 13th Century England.
Rice will also serve as a producer on the project.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
