Holly Hunter, Chris Messina, Harmony Korine are the latest cast members to join Al Pacino in David Gordon Green’s upcoming feature film MANGLEHORN. Al Pacino will play the titular role of an eccentric small-town character coming to terms with losing the love of his life thanks to his choices to live a life of crime. Green, who previously directed PINEAPPLE EXPRESS and YOUR HIGHNESS, also wrote the screenplay alongside Paul Logan.
Roles of the new cast members are yet to be announced although it is likely Holly Hunter could play the aforementioned love of Pacino’s life. Hunter has most recently been on the small screen in New Zealand crime mystery Top of the Lake and has a part in the star studded Terrence Malick project alongside Ryan Gosling, Rooney Mara, Christian Bale, Natalie Portman and Michael Fassbender due for release this time next year.
Harmony Korine wrote and directed this year’s love it or hate it SPRING BREAKERS, has appeared in several of his previous movies and had a small role in 2013 drama thriller STOKER. Chris Messina is best known for TV series The Newsroom, The Mindy Project and Damages and will direct his first feature next year.
Production is due to start later this year in Los Angeles and MANGLEHORN will be on our screens in 2014.
