Superb Sickening Trailer For Horror ‘Almost Human’

It has nothing to do with Fox’s forthcoming, same-titled sci-fi series starring Karl Urban, but director Joe Begos’ independent horror flick ALMOST HUMAN certainly appears to have elements of the sci-fi genre. The film will make its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival‘s Midnight Madness showcase alongside Eli Roth’s cannibal thriller THE GREEN INFERNO and Lucky McKee/Chris Sivertson’s slasher ALL CHEERLEADERS DIE.

This latest trailer doesn’t skimp on the intense scares or brutal bloodshed, with a paranoid plot device and tone reminiscent of John Carpenter classic THE THING. The story centres on Mark Fisher, who disappeared one night in a brilliant flash of blue light almost two years earlier. However, former friend Seth Hampton, the last person to see him alive, believes a string of gruesome murders is connected to Mark who has returned with something evil living inside of him.

There is currently no general release details available for either the US or the UK but fans of gore must check this out.

Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
