Sigourney Weaver Set To Lead The Shadowhunters In ‘The Mortal Instruments: City Of Ash’

Supernatural franchise opener THE MORTAL INSTRUMENT: CITY OF BONES is still hit cinemas next month but plans are now in motion to begin work on the sequel to Cassandra Clare’s series of novels. Constantin Films and Screen Gems have approached Sigourney Weaver for the role of ruthless evil Shadowhunter leader for THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF ASH.

It’s expected Weaver will join the returning Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kevin Zegers, Robert Sheehan, Jemima West and Jonathan Rhys Meyers in the follow-up again directed by Harald Zwart. It be begin shooting in October.
