Coming from Warner Bros. and INCENDIES director Denis Villeneuve is the character driven suspense thriller PRISONERS. The all-star film is led by Hugh Jackman as a working-class Boston father, who, after his daughter vanishes on the streets, sets out on a violent mission to track down the man he believes is responsible for her disappearance.
This is another impressive ‘more than meets the eye’ trailer from the film also starring Jake Gyllenhaal, Paul Dano, Melissa Leo, Maria Bello, Terrence Howard, Viola Davis and is released in US cinemas from the 20th September and the UK from the 4th October. We’ve also added the first character posters featuring Jackman’s desperate father and Gyllenhaal’s determined detective.
Keller Dover is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His 6-year-old daughter and her young friend are missing, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect’s release. Knowing his child’s life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?
Craig was our great north east correspondent, proving that it’s so ‘grim up north’ that losing yourself in a world of film is a foregone prerequisite. He has been studying the best (and often worst) of both classic and modern cinema at the University of Life for as long as he can remember. Craig’s favorite films include THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, JFK, GOODFELLAS, SCARFACE, and most of John Carpenter’s early work, particularly THE THING and HALLOWEEN.
