AFTER EARTH is M. Night Shyamalan’s latest and has been focusing on the father and son casting of Will and Jaden Smith. No surprise as they are also the protagonists who happen to crash land on Earth 1,000 years after humans evacuated the planet. The trailers have failed to impress me so far, but then again I’m bound to be wary of anything with Shyamalan’s name attached after THE LAST AIRBENDER and THE HAPPENING.
Stepping away from the power casting of Smith and Smith, we now get our first look at the female cast, including actresses Zoe Kravitz and Sophie Okonedo. They play Cypher’s (Will Smith) eldest daughter and wife respectively. No word yet on the size of their parts, but I would imagine them to be quite small.
AFTER EARTH is released 31st May in the US and 7th June in the UK. It stars Will Smith, Jaden Smith, Isabella Fuhrman, Sophie Okonedo, and Zoe Kravitz.
